DESCRIPTION
TOR is an instance of a path-based anonymizing communication protocol. Participants select paths routed through intermediary nodes to establish virtual connections by exchanging routing information. Each node has knowledge only of its immediate predecessor and successor within the route. Network traffic along this route is decrypted using symmetric keys at each intermediary node, thereby revealing only the immediate next hop.
