Kerberos represents a network authentication protocol, with its primary objective being to provide robust authentication services to client and server applications through a key-based system. The implementation of this authentication process does not rely on the authentication mechanisms of the host operating systems and does not require trust based on host addresses. Furthermore, it does not demand physical security measures for all hosts on the network. In such scenarios, Kerberos, as a trusted third-party authentication service, operates traditionally using cryptographic techniques.
